We propose a visit to the Mina de la Jayona, declared a Natural Monument to which joins a tasting of oils, wines, Iberian products and cheese that will take place inside the mine.
It will begin with a tour of the mine, a real geological spectacle and endemic biodiversity guided by the technical staff of the mine itself.
Then, the visit will continue at the Ermita de la Virgen del Ara, declared of Cultural Interest and 6 kilometers away from the mine. A Mudejar style hermitage known as the "Sistine Chapel of Extremadura" for its spectacular fresco paintings that occupy the entire space of vaults and interior walls.
After the visits, there will be a tasting of olive oil from the region, followed by a tasting of two wines arguing the importance of minerality in wine. The oil and wine tasting will be explained by an expert. The tasting will be accompanied by Iberian products and cheeses of the area, giving each attendee a picnic bag that includes Iberian sliced meat, cheese, bread, bottle of water, bag of colines and napkin.
Instead of wine, the little ones will be given must instead of wine.
